I have been waiting 3 years to do the Inka Trail and now it's finally here. Too bad the pictures don't do it justice.Today will be the shortest day of our 4 day trek. We hiked 7 miles to camp with an elevation gain from 8500 (at the start) to 9800 feet.
I didn't realize just how strict they are about who goes on the trail. There is a checkpoint where they check your pass and how much is being carried by the porters. Each person is only allowed a certain amount of weight for clothing and food. There will a couple more checkpoints before we reach Machupicchu.
